LeanBiome vs Ikaria Lean Belly Juice: Which Is Better?
Two well-known weight loss supplements with distinct approaches. LeanBiome targets gut health via probiotics + enhanced green tea. Ikaria Lean Belly Juice uses a blend of herbal extracts associated with the longevity of Ikaria, Greece. Here’s my comparison.
Core Approaches
LeanBiome: Probiotic-driven weight management through L. gasseri, L. rhamnosus, and Greenselect Phytosome. Works on the gut microbiome as a root cause of metabolic dysfunction.
Ikaria Lean Belly Juice: A mixable supplement containing milk thistle, taraxacum (dandelion), panax ginseng, EGCG, citrus pectin, and other herbal extracts. Named after Ikaria, a Greek island renowned for its remarkable centenarian population.

Evidence Comparison
LeanBiome
- L. gasseri: Robust — nearly 9% abdominal fat reduction in human RCT
- L. rhamnosus: Solid — significant weight loss in women in 6-month trial
- Greenselect Phytosome: Strong — enhanced EGCG absorption with documented weight loss data
- Combined strength: Strong
Ikaria Lean Belly Juice
- Milk Thistle: Mainly a liver health ingredient. Some animal evidence for metabolic benefits, but weak weight loss data in humans
- Taraxacum: Folk diuretic. Could reduce water weight temporarily but won’t reduce fat. Minimal clinical evidence
- Ginseng: Solid — 9.6 mg/dL fasting glucose reduction, adaptogenic benefits (this is the formula’s strongest ingredient)
- EGCG: Decent — thermogenic effects confirmed, but regular form has poor bioavailability (compared to LeanBiome’s Greenselect)
- Citrus Pectin: Primarily a binding agent. May support toxin binding but no specific weight loss evidence
- Fucoxanthin: A seaweed-derived pigment from brown algae with some animal studies indicating thermogenic effects, but clinical evidence is very limited
- Combined strength: 5/10
Pricing
| Package | LeanBiome | Ikaria Lean Belly Juice |
|---|---|---|
| Single | $59 | $69 |
| 3 units | $49/ea | $59/ea |
| 6 units | $39/ea | $49/ea |
LeanBiome is $10/unit cheaper at each pricing tier.
My Verdict
LeanBiome comes out ahead on both evidence quality AND pricing.
LeanBiome’s three core ingredients have meaningfully more robust human clinical evidence than Ikaria’s broader but less proven ingredient list. The Greenselect Phytosome especially is superior to Ikaria’s standard EGCG on bioavailability data. And LeanBiome costs less money at every tier.
Where Ikaria wins: the presence of ginseng for stress-management support. If stress is a major factor in your weight challenges, the ginseng component provides value that LeanBiome lacks.
